Fresh from the release of the Gruffalo 50p, Royal Mint has once again brought out an incredible family collectible with a brand new Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit 50p.
The new design, which is out today, shows Beatrix Potter’s infamous Peter Rabbit character standing upright and wearing his trademark blue jacket and holding his iconic red handkerchief.
It comes in three versions, including a standard silver coin for £10 called the ‘Brilliant Uncirculated Coin’ alongside two limited presentations.
There’s the ‘Silver Proof Coin’ on sale for £65 which features colour in the coin and you can clearly see the famous rabbit’s trademark clothing come alive.
Only 30,000 of these are available and it comes in delightful limited edition packaging.
The design has been carefully engraved by Royal Mint coin designer Emma Noble.
Finally, there’s a ‘Golf Proof Coin’ at a cool £795. Struck in a 916.7 red gold design, the luxury item comes in an elegant wooden box, with only 500 ever been made. This has fully sold out.
It’s good news, however, if you’re looking to purchase the other two designs.
At present, over 60% of the Silver Proof coins have been reserved which means there’s still a chance to pick up this collector’s item for yourself, while the Brilliant Uncirculated Coin is more readily available.
To add to your Beatrix Potter collection, be sure to visit the official Royal Mint website as quick as you can.
