2018 was the year of Royal weddings and now anyone looking to recapture that regal feeling on their big day can do so courtesy of Prince Charles at his new Scottish wedding venue.
The Prince of Wales Scottish estate, Dumfries House, near Cumnock along the Ayrshire coast, is set to develop a new wedding venue in 2019 that could host up to 200 guests.
The new state-of-the-art venue, which was given the green light last week to begin construction after the prince and his team submitted planning permission in the spring, will be built at the stunning location and cater to high-end wedding packages.
What will be included
Dumfries House currently already hosts weddings as part of its effort to make the property commercially successful. The Tapestry Room hosts ceremonies, with receptions and other events held in an outdoor marquee next to the main house.
The new venue is set to offer a more comfortable environment for weddings and become a focal point for the 18th century building.
The venue will be built in the woodland area adjacent to the main house. It will be able to host up to 200 guests and create more than 20 new jobs for the local area.
The venue will also feature a walled garden for when the Scottish weather allows for an outdoor wedding.
