To help homes and gardens create something a little different to hold their plants and veggies, IKEA have revealed a helpful how-to DIY guide on how to build a Garden Sphere.
With the summer season now here, the Swedish furniture giants are providing homes with the blueprint to transform their gardens, roof terraces, balconies, and community gardens, into idyllic escapes with a tiered garden sphere that makes it easy for green fingered aficionados and novices to grow fresh produce and plants.
The impressive platform is called the “Growroom” and allows gardeners to cultivate an entire piece of land for growing fruit, veg, herbs, and flowers, using a tiered system of boxes – perfect for those who are low of gardening space.
The entire frame of the sphere garden can be constructed using plywood, screws, and a hammer. IKEA provide a helpful step-by-step guide on how to create the platform, featuring full details on all the materials are needed.
Once built, the sphere garden will be able to provide fresh fruit and vegetables for you and your family, along with the wider community.
The idea behind the sphere garden is to encourage people to cut down on their carbon footprint, avoiding repeated visits to grocery stores, and focus more on growing their own sustainable produce and helping to create their very own garden of Eden.
The IKEA garden sphere was created by the Space-10 Lab, IKEA’s team focused on developing sustainable and environmentally friendly projects to help the world. Full details on the guide and steps to build the growroom are available to download for free from IKEA online.
