Shelves are a major aspect of every home, but they’re often not the friendliest item to move when it comes time for a redecoration, this new collection wants to change that.
Floyd, a USA-based furniture designer start-up, have designed a unit that’ll make moving shelves around the home easy and creative with their modular shelving system “The Shelf“, which also wants to be the last shelves you ever buy again.
The shelf is a shelving system that grows with you. Making sure you, your family, and home always have enough space to organise your lives.
Floyd’s unique design comes in three parts, creating a fully customisable unit, perfect for growing families or young couples.
Each shelve can be moved up or down, opening up wider spaces or reducing room by narrowing the the gaps between each space.
The shelf is made using Birch plywood and a beautiful Ash face. The shelves themselves are made with durable steel.
In order to maintain the highest level of safety and stability, Floyd put the shelves through stringent testing to guarantee no accidents occur when moving each unit.
The shelf comes in two options, the tall shelf, which is 70.5 inches by 30 or the short shelf at 34.75 by 28.2. Both can be connected and combined to create a larger shelving unit for those looking for an extra-large unit.
The shelf by Floyd is priced from £400 to £600, with an additional delivery charge, and is available to pre-order for an end of July delivery from Floyd online.
