T’s the season of giving and there’s a new advent calendar dedicated to giving back to those less fortunate available this year.
Instead of the usual sweet gifts or extravagant trinkets hidden behind each window, the Advent for Change calendar donates £1 per day to 24 charities throughout the festive period.
Endorsed by the likes of Joanna Lumley OBE, Chris Evans, Sir Richard Branson, and a host of other celebrities and personalities, the unique calendar is the perfect way to give something back.
Billed as the “kindest advent calendar in the world”, each window on the Advent for Change calendar represents a £1 or 50p donation. Behind each window instead of a chocolate or gift, there’s information on how your donation will be used and who you’ve helped.
From improving mental health services for young people, to assisting sick, injured and homeless pets, saving pandas, the Blue Cross, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s charity, farms for city children, the MS Society, plus many more, are all supported. A full list of charities and organisation is available online.
Advent for Change are a not-for-profit organisation, with over 70% of the sale from each calendar going directly to the charities.
There are three calendar options available, a standard edition donating 50p per window, a premium version donating £1 per window, and a children’s calendar donating 50p per window.
There are also a braille versions of each calendar available.
