When it comes to drinking wines, people often assume the more expensive the better, that theory has been poured out following Aldi’s big win at the 2019 Wine awards.
The supermarket giant has won a staggering 48 medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2019, the world’s largest wine competition, which means Aldi shoppers are in fact tasting some of the worlds best wine for the best prices.
Awarding winning wines at impressively low prices, who can argue with that?
Judged by a panel of 280 of the worlds most renowned wine experts, which includes 70 Masters of Wine, the Decanter World Wine Awards pits the very best wines from all over the globe against one another across a variety of rigorous taste tests.
Aldi managed to snag eight prestigious silver medal winner awards, which included the £6.99 Organic Malbec, £5.49 Leyda Sauvingon Blanc, £7.99 Valley Way Barossa Shiraz, and £7.99 Plow & Press Californian Pinot Noir, plus many more.
The supermarket collected a further 40 awards across a delicious range of whites, reds, and Rosé wines.
The vast majority of the award winning wines come from Aldi’s Exquisite Collection, which has grown from just a seven bottle range to over 50 since its debut in 2012.
The award winning results mean Aldi are the only supermarket chain offering globally recognized wines at great customer value.
