To help make the Coronavirus lockdown more bearable, the National Theatre have revealed they are streaming top theatre shows for free on their new digital platform.

The theatre shows will go live on the National Theatre’s YouTube channel, beginning 2 April, starting with the online premiere of James Corden’s hit stage show – One Man, Two Guvnors.

The online streaming initiative is in direct response to the Coronavirus lockdown and the closure of all the theatre venues across London, and the wider UK.

The shows have all be developed from the NT Live project, which live streams productions of their shows into national cinemas.

With that service currently on hiatus during the coronavirus lockdown it will instead be providing homes with impressive theatre performances on their YouTube channel – ideal for those looking for something new to experience while self-isolating.

The first show will broadcast live Thursday 2 April, with the likes of Jane Eyre, Treasure Island and Twelfth Night to follow over the coming weeks.
