From the hills of Scotland, the coastal areas of Northern Ireland, to all of England and Wales, the CV Library study canvased the entire country to find the happiest place to live and work, and we’ll give you a hint, it’s definitely in the UK.
The new study was commissioned to find out the level of happiness people in the UK felt and to better understand how to help those who are struggling with unhappiness or mental health issues.
The study polled 2,000 working professionals and revealed workers in certain cities are happier than others.
The happiest place to live and work in the UK, with 86.4% of local residents stating they felt happy every day, is the coastal city of Brighton.
The result shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given the seaside English city is nestled one of the most beautiful regions in the country.
Brighton is filled with a range of restaurants and cafes, quick links to London, clean air, fresh food, better than normal weather, and is surrounded by beautiful beaches. Not to mention, a number of top employers call the city home.
The rest of the top ten happy places to live and work in the UK, in descending order, were; Swansea, Glasgow, York, Lincoln, Belfast, Edinburgh, Birmingham, London, and Manchester.
So, if you’re feeling unhappy in work or life, try and find your way to one of these happiness filled locations around the UK.
