With many businesses struggling during lockdown, one enterprising eco park has turned to public crowdfunding as a way to raise vital funds.
Mount Pleasant Eco Park is a popular green space in Cornwall that boasts over 42-acres of space usually open to the community to share.
The environmentally friendly venue hosts everything from live music gigs and international music festivals to roots culture markets, sustainable workshops and community tree planting days.
It also features a glamping campsite set on the Cornish coast complete with shepherd’s huts, easy access to the beach and plenty of wide open space to explore.
The park has launched a Crowdfunder campaign to raise 20K towards ensuring the future of the park. In return, you’ll be rewarded for your donation.
While donating between £20 and £95 will give you access to benefits, including a glass mosaic kit if you pledge £35 or more, you can also enjoy a 2 night stay in a shepherd’s hut.
Pledging £150 or more will allow you to enjoy a Cornish glamping adventure with sea views and it can be booked for any available date within two years of the date the park reopens.
“Like all small businesses the current lockdown has created many issues for us,” the business wrote on their Crowdfunder page.
“We have had to postpone all gigs, cancel events, close our campsite and refund countless bookings where rearranging just wasn’t possible.”
“Whilst our income has completely stopped, our outgoings have not and we still have insurance, maintenance costs, supplier bills, etc to pay.”
